The Professional Development Academy is designed to enhance the career and professional development of Communications Unit and other Public Safety Support personnel. Course work will include various leadership philosophies and skills development, effective communications skills, career development skills, emotional intelligence, as well as other important aspects of professional growth and development.
This course is offered as four classes over a one-year. Each class is offered on two dates each quarter to assist agencies with staffing issues and to offer more candidates the opportunity to attend.
The Academy is recommended for all Telecommunicators, Records and administrative Support Personnel, as well as Unit and Division commanders.
Tuition for the Professional Development Academy is $250.00 per student or two for $400.00. Each student will receive copies of all training research and handout material.
